Sokolská Residence: A New Chapter Awaits This Historic Apartment Building in Prague 2

We are delighted to announce a new acquisition that expands Porta Invest’s portfolio. We will transform the historic apartment building at Sokolská 10 in Prague 2 into Rezidence Sokolská. A carefully considered renovation will create 44 residential and accommodation units with studio layouts, along with nine parking spaces. Located on the boundary between Nové Město (New Town) and Vinohrady, the project will combine the character of the original architecture with the comforts of contemporary living.

Our colleague and Project Manager, Kateřina Jindrová, managed the acquisition of the building from Luxent on behalf of Porta Invest. We would like to thank her for successfully completing the acquisition and for her continued work as the project moves into its next phase.

Kateřina is now working on the building’s renovation alongside Petr Pavlík, Technical Director at Porta Invest. Close collaboration between project and technical management is particularly important when working with a historic building: innovative solutions for modern living and new technologies must respect its original character while meeting the needs of its future use.

Rezidence Sokolská builds on our experience with Prague’s historic apartment buildings. Our aim is to preserve the building’s distinctive character while preparing it for many more years of use. The renovation therefore encompasses both improvements to the individual units and building systems designed to enhance residents’ comfort.

The building will offer units ranging from 14 to 28 m². Selected units will feature a sleeping loft, making better use of the ceiling height and separating the sleeping area from the main living space.

Standard specifications will include traditional timber double-frame windows with acoustic glazing and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery in every unit. The attic units will also feature air conditioning. The project will provide individual basement storage spaces for almost every unit, as well as nine parking spaces.
